PVC Tape (Polyvinylchloride) is also known as electrical tape as it is mostly used in electrical insulation work. PVC is flame retardant, resistant to UV light, waterproof and super stretchy. There are various different colours available and these assist electricians with coding wires and cables to make installation much safer and easier. PVC tape is a strong adhesive tape that also has a number of other applications such as:
- Floor Markings – the different colours and sizes of PVC tape make it practical for marking out floor spaces. This can be for useful for planning out room design and showing people where they need to go (stage directions for example).
- Component Construction – the colour coding of PVC tape makes it useful to assist with component construction as it provides clear guidance on how parts are supposed to connect together.
